A day in the life of… by Walcott Class 3
In class 3 we have been giving life to inanimate objects in the form of a diary! We’ve had lots of fun writing them and imagining the adventures for these objects. We’d love to know what you think about them.
The scene of a mysterious crime…
On Monday 29th June 2015, the class 3 children walked into a terrible crime scene. They were so horrified by what they saw that they decided to write some newspaper reports about the incident. We’d love to hear what you think of them.
Class 3 E.T. Unaided Diary Writing
Steps to success:
Write in the first person. □
Use time connectives. □
Use adverbial phrases. □
Describe the world you are in. □
Include a simile, metaphor and personification. □
Describe your feelings as E.T. □
Write in paragraphs. □
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial – Dramatic Writing
Write a paragraph, as exciting as the film, to describe this scene.
Steps to success:
- Use short sentences.
- Use exciting/unusual words.
- Tell us about how the characters FEEL as well as what they DO.

Class 3 @ Walcott & Martin: Oliver Diary Entries
At both Walcott and Mrs Mary King’s Primary School, the children have been working extremely hard writing diary entries. Linked to the Oliver Twist book, the children have been imagining that they are Oliver Twist and have written a diary entry as him. We would love to know what you think of them.
